From the President's Desk

Well we have gotten an early spring with ice going off of our lakes and the frost out of the ground at least weeks ahead of mother natures’ normal schedule. In my part of the state we have had several inches of rain in the first half of April. Our early spring break up is looking to drag on to its historical length due to the rain and the unseasonably warm weather. If weather conditions remain wet it will prevent all of us from getting back to work.

Oil Fairies - Greetings, Much of the talk these days is centered around climate change and how to deal with it. The climate change cause offers an opportunity to expand the role sustainable forest management plays in climate change mitigation. No matter how you slice it, trees are the only true renewable resource. A great deal of reforestation happens naturally and planting trees by design compliments natural regeneration to ensure an abundant supply of trees.
