As we move to the halfway point of winter, conditions have been very mild with not a lot of snow. I have to admit I am enjoying this weather. Not having the extra expense of snow plowing so far helps the bottom line. For the businesses that rely on snow for our winter recreations, we could certainly use some snow to help their economic situation.

Greetings, An ad came to our attention recently and written in this ad were statements about the wonderful benefits of using bamboo fiber for production of toilet paper and paper toweling. Statements like the following were taken from an ad called “Seedling” by Grove. “Strong, tree-free paper that replants the forest” and “Keep trees growing with every long-lasting, jumbo roll”.

International Veneer & Timber - Tim Sprink received a forestry education at UW-Stevens Point, graduating in 1989. He grew up in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, a kid who had a liking for the outdoors. Forestry seemed to be the way to spend his working life in the outdoors.

A Model of the Mission - Nine Mile County Forest Recreation Area is a living model of the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association mission. Nestled in Marathon County in north-central Wisconsin, this 4,894 acre unit of mixed hardwoods, oak, pine and aspen is managed according to State Statute 28.11, County Forest Law for sustainable forest production while providing quality recreation that draws users from the tristate region.
